Sarthak Ranjan, Son of MP Pappu Yadav, once again showcased his aggressive batting prowess while playing for the North Delhi Strikers in the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2026). In the match played on Wednesday, Sarthak played a blistering knock of 45 runs off just 23 balls at an explosive strike rate of 195, featuring six towering sixes and one four.

Opening the innings for the North Delhi Strikers, Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Dabas played aggressive shots all around the ground. Together, they stitched a century partnership of 107 runs for the first wicket:

  • Sarthak Ranjan: 23 balls, 45 runs (6 sixes, 1 four, strike rate 195)
  • Yash Dabas: 38 balls, 78 runs (6 sixes, 5 fours)

Sarthak had already steered the team to a strong position before getting caught out off the bowling of Divansh Rawat in the eighth over. Following the dismissal of the openers, a contribution of 27 runs from Arjun Raparia helped the North Delhi Strikers post a massive total of 207 runs.

Ayush Badoni Counter-Attacks as North Delhi Strikers Suffer Defeat

Chasing a daunting target of 208 runs, the South Delhi Superstars had lost three wickets for just 50 runs. However, captain Ayush Badoni turned the tide of the match by playing a magnificent captain's knock of 90 runs off 47 balls (8 sixes, 4 fours).

In the end, Ankit Dabas scored 26 runs off 10 balls, securing a 4-wicket victory for South Delhi with three balls to spare.

DPL 2026 Points Table Update

Following this defeat, the North Delhi Strikers' position on the points table has weakened:

  • North Delhi Strikers: 9 matches (3 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw) — 7 points (6th place)
  • South Delhi Superstars: 9 matches (5 wins) — 11 points (4th place)

Thanks to this individual performance, Sarthak Ranjan continues to be a talking point throughout the tournament.
