Uthappa has retained faith in experienced captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill for the top order. However, the biggest surprise is the inclusion of teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Meanwhile, aggressive opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has failed to make the cut.
Middle Order: Samson Included, Rishabh Pant Out

Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul have been included to bolster the middle order. For the wicketkeeping role, Uthappa has selected Sanju Samson as a backup to KL Rahul. Surprisingly, regular contenders like Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan have been left out of the squad.
Spin & All-Rounders: Hardik, Jadeja, Axar Selected

Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel have been selected as all-rounders to maintain team balance. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has been backed as the primary specialist spinner. Emerging all-rounders Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy could not find a spot in the team.

The pace attack will be spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh. Additionally, Uthappa surprised everyone by including the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who played his last ODI in 2022.
