When Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League (WPL) final, they achieved their dream of raising the trophy. After much anticipation, the much-awaited trophy moment for the Royal Challenge Bangalore (RCB) was finally realized at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with an eight-wicket victory.

The star player of the evening was RCB's off-spinner Shreyanka Patil, who solidified her status as the WPL's top wicket-taker.

Patil, who finished with an incredible 13 scalps, was crucial to her team's triumph.

Emotions were running high after their victory, and Patil expressed them at the RCB Unbox 2024 event on Tuesday. During a meeting with the renowned former captain of RCB, Virat Kohli, Patil conveyed her appreciation for the team's accomplishments. On X (previously Twitter), Patil expressed her opinions as follows: 'I started watching cricket because of him. Dreamed of being like him as a child. I also had the time of my life last night. 'Hello Shreyanka, well bowled,' Virat said. He truly recognizes my name (three winking emojis).

Marizanne Kapp of the Delhi Capitals was the highest wicket-taker before the WPL 2024 championship game. But in the pivotal match, Karnataka native Shreyanka Patil changed the story with a magnificent effort. Patil beat Kapp to become the tournament's second-highest wicket-taker after an outstanding bowling stint that yielded four vital wickets at a cost of just 12 runs. Aside from this, she won the coveted title of rising player of the season for her persistent brilliance with the ball, which helped her club, the Royals, to victory.

In September of last year, the 21-year-old, in an exclusive interview with TimesofIndia.com, declared her affection for Kohli, adding, 'Virat Kohli has been my inspiration since day one since I started playing cricket.' My primary motivation for taking up the sport was him. It's simply the atmosphere he emanates from wherever he goes. That's unique; it's simply not the cricket parts. I can sort of see everything, and I respect the intensity on the field.'
