Pakistan has canceled its tour of Netherlands before next year's T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan has cited busy schedule. According to media reports, Pakistan had requested the Netherlands Cricket Board to cancel this series in view of the busy schedule. If the news is to be believed, both the boards are exploring options to schedule this series further.
Know what is the reason: According to a Cricbuzz report, Pakistan had hinted at touring the Netherlands after their CWC Super League series in Rotterdam in 2022 and a three-match T20 series was planned for early May 2023. After this, Pakistan has to tour Ireland and England and before that the team was planning to tour Netherlands. Pakistan has to play a home series against New Zealand in April, so the team has very little time left. In such a situation, Pakistan has demanded a change in the schedule of this series.
According to the report, KNCB High-Performance Manager Roland Lefebvre said, "We are obviously disappointed but of course, we understand the situation and remain optimistic that a new window will be found to play series at home or away."
Let us tell you, both the teams had appeared in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and during this, Pakistan had won against Netherlands. Now all the teams have their eyes set on the World Cup to be held in Australia next year. Before this T20 World Cup, all the teams want to complete their preparations. This series between Pakistan and Netherlands is part of that preparation.
