After captaining Bengal in their final Ranji Trophy 2024 match, former Indian and Bengal cricket player Manoj Tiwary announced his retirement from the game on Sunday. In an exclusive interview with News18 following the game, Manoj expressed his desire to question Mahendra Singh Dhoni about his exclusion from the Indian team's playing XI despite hitting a century against the West Indies. Manoj further stated that he might have been a Rohit Sharma or a Virat Kohli if he had been given the chance.

Manoj Tiwary represented India in three T20Is and twelve ODIs. Nevertheless, despite his potential, Manoj was unable to secure a regular spot in the Indian squad. Manoj scored 104 runs without conceding any wickets during a brilliant December 2011 innings in Chennai against the West Indies. He did, however, miss the following 14 games as a member of the starting lineup.

After putting up his boots, Manoj questioned the choice made by then-captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to exclude him from the playing XI even after the century.
