LSG appoints Lance Klusener as assistant coach for IPL 2024: Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) have added former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener as assistant coach for the upcoming season of IPL. Klusener Lucknow's team includes head coach Justin Langer and assistant coach S. Will join Shri Ram.
This will be Klusener's second stint as a coach in the IPL. He worked as an assistant to former South African captain Shaun Pollock at Mumbai Indians in the early years of the league. Under Klusener's leadership, the Guyana Amazon Warriors won their first CPL title last year.
LSG's assistant coach for IPL 2024: Lance Klusener will reunite with West Indies' new pace sensation Shamar Joseph in the IPL. Both the legends have worked together in the Amazon Warriors in the CPL. Apart from this, Klusener has been the head coach of Afghanistan and batting coach of South Africa and Zimbabwe. He has also featured with Tripura in the Indian domestic circuit.
The South African player played 49 Tests and 171 ODI matches for his country from 1996 to 2004. The Lucknow team will start its IPL campaign against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on March 24.
Klusener led the Guyana Warriors to their first Caribbean Premier League title. The team had defeated Trinbaco Knight Riders by 9 wickets in the final of last season. Apart from being the batting coach of South Africa and Zimbabwe, he has been the head coach of Afghanistan.
