The Indian team will tour Australia in November this year. At the end of the year, both teams will play a 5-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will also include a day-night Test. Before this day-night Test match to be played in Adelaide, the Indian team will play a two-day day-night practice match, which will give the Indian team a chance to adjust to the conditions by playing with a pink ball in day-night in Australian conditions.
The first match of the 5-Test series between India and Australia will be played in Perth from November 22. This will be the first time since 1991-92 that a five-Test series will be played between these two teams. Cricket Australia said on its website that the Indian team will play a two-day day-night practice match against the Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra from November 30.
This practice match has been added to the schedule to help the Indian team prepare for the day-night Test match to be held in Adelaide. India also played a day-night Test match in the 2020-21 Australia tour. India lost this Test match. Then the Indian team was all out for just 36 runs in the second innings of the Adelaide Test and India had to face defeat by 8 wickets here.
But after this, the Indian team won the series 2-1 by winning 2 of the remaining 3 Test matches and drawing one Test. India has defeated Australia in the last 4 Test series. Australia last won a Test series from India in 2014-15, after which the Kangaroo team defeated India in the series played at home in 2014-15 itself.
The last Test series between the two countries was played in 2023, when the Australian team came to India and played a series of 4 Test matches, in which India won the series 2-1. India has won the last 4 Test series against the Kangaroo team 2-1.

- India vs Prime Minister XI warm-up matches: November 30 to December 1, at Canberra

- Third Test: December 14 to December 18, at Brisbane
- Fourth Test: December 26 to December 30, at Melbourne (Boxing Day Test)
- Fifth Test: January 3 to January 7, at Sydney
