Fans had been concerned about Pant's injury, but the good news is that it is not serious. The BCCI and team management decided to keep him off the field merely as a precautionary measure to prevent the injury from worsening. Had the injury been severe, he would not have come out to bat on the second day. Given that the team has a capable wicketkeeper in Dhruv Jurel, the sensible decision was made not to take any risks with Pant.
