On the same ground in Hyderabad where Indian bowlers are wreaking havoc with their deadly bowling, Ollie Pope has stolen the show by scoring a century. In difficult conditions, Pope batted brilliantly with patience and scored the fifth century of his Test career. England's fight continues in the first Test against India thanks to Pope's century.
Ollie Pope, who came to the crease after Jack Crowley returned to the pavilion, looked in great form from the beginning. Pope set his sights on the crease and stitched a half-century partnership with Ben Duckett for the second wicket.
After Duckett returned to the pavilion, Joe Root, Bairstow and captain Ben Stokes also returned to the pavilion cheaply. However, this did not affect Pope's batting and he remained standing at one end. Pope completed the fifth century of his Test career in 154 balls.
