ICC World Cup 2027 Schedule & Dates: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the dates for the qualifier matches for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Following this major decision, the race among teams to qualify for the 2027 mega-event has intensified.
ICC World Cup 2027 Qualifier Dates & Schedule Details
According to the new schedule released by the ICC, this 10-team qualifier tournament will be played between February 22 and March 23, 2027.
However, cricket fans will have to wait a little longer for details regarding the venues. While the ICC has announced the dates, the specific countries or stadiums where the matches will be held have not yet been revealed.
ODI World Cup 2027 New Format & Super Series Explained

The 2027 ODI World Cup will feature a new and expanded format, with a total of 14 teams participating. The qualification structure will be as follows:
- Direct Entry: The team that wins the qualifier will gain direct entry into the main group of 14 teams.
- Super Series Race: Teams finishing second, third, and fourth in the qualifier will compete against each other in the World Cup's opening round, known as the 'Super Series'.
- Ticket to Top 12: The team that tops this Super Series will secure a spot in the main stage featuring the top 12 teams.

ODI World Cup 2027 Host Countries & Stadiums List
This will mark the first time that three nations, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, will jointly host the ODI World Cup. The main tournament will be played from October 4 to November 21, 2027.
Matches throughout the World Cup will be held across a total of 12 different stadiums, comprising 8 stadiums in South Africa (the highest number), 3 in Zimbabwe, and 1 in Namibia.
Which 10 Teams Will Qualify for the Tournament?
The 10 teams participating in the qualifiers will be selected as follows:
- The 2 lowest-ranked 'Full Member' teams in the ICC ODI rankings as of the cut-off date of September 30, 2026 (excluding hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe).
- The top 4 teams from CWC League 2.
- The top 4 teams from the World Cup Qualifier Play-off.
