‘We aren’t winning anything’— Former Indian cricket legend vents frustration after ODI series loss to England
Following the defeat in the T20I series against England, India has suffered a crushing 2-1 loss in the ODI series as well. Indian cricket fans are deeply disappointed by these consecutive series defeats. In the wake of this loss, former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra has expressed strong criticism regarding the Indian team's recent performance.
Rohit Sharma’s century at Lord’s goes in vain; England clinches series 2-1
In the third and deciding ODI played at Lord’s, England set a massive target of 388 runs for India, powered by a marathon century from Ben Duckett (141 runs).
In response, the Indian team could only manage 360 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs, losing the match by 28 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma put up a valiant fight with a magnificent century (138 runs) but was unable to steer the team to victory.

After losing the series against England, Aakash Chopra expressed his disappointment on his YouTube channel, stating:
“We have lost yet another series, which is extremely disheartening. We lost the T20 series in Ireland, then the T20 series against England, and now the ODI series as well. We aren't winning anything! Apart from winning a Test and an ODI series against Afghanistan, what have we actually won?”
He further added,
“We did win the World Cup, but prior to that, we had lost the ODI series against New Zealand and the Test series against South Africa. We are losing more matches than we are winning. The World Cup trophy masked everything for a while, but the reality is that we are losing a lot of matches. The team absolutely must not get into the habit of losing.”
All eyes now on the Zimbabwe tour
Following the conclusion of the England tour, the Indian team's next stop is Zimbabwe, where they are set to play a three-match T20 series. The tour will kick off with the first T20 match on July 23. Fans are hopeful that the Indian team, featuring a squad of young players, will make a strong comeback during this tour.
