A heated exchange took place on the field during the second day of the Darwin Test match between Australia and Bangladesh. A confrontation occurred between Australia's ace fast bowler Mitchell Starc and Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The two engaged in a heated argument, prompting umpire Kumar Dharmasena to intervene.
During the over, the bowler delivered a 'back-of-a-length' ball outside the off-stump. Miraz played it towards short third man and completed a run. After taking the run, Miraz walked across the area of the pitch that is protected to prevent damage caused by the footmarks of bowlers and batsmen. Starc, who was moving forward in his follow-through after delivering the ball, was annoyed by this. He walked straight up to Miraz and gave him an earful, saying, "This is my follow-through, not yours. Get off the pitch."
Miraz also retorted to Mitchell Starc, causing the atmosphere to heat up briefly. The two players engaged in a face-to-face argument. Before the situation could escalate further, on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena intervened; he separated the players and defused the tension, allowing the match to resume. Australia was already under pressure while Bangladesh was steadily strengthening its position; the rising tension on the field reflected the host team's frustration.

Earlier, the Bangladeshi bowlers delivered a magnificent performance on the first day. The Australian team was bowled out for just 198 runs in their first innings. Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud proved to be the biggest challenge for the Australian side; he claimed six wickets and shattered the host team's batting lineup.
On the second day, Bangladesh capitalized fully on their strong start. Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored a brilliant 101 runs, becoming the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a Test century on Australian soil. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto also played a crucial innings of 84 runs. Thanks to these performances, Bangladesh established a commanding lead over Australia.
By the close of play on the second day, Bangladesh had reached 351 for six, securing a lead of 153 runs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz (32*) and Hasan Mahmud (13*) remained unbeaten. On the third day, Bangladesh will aim to extend this lead further, while Australia will try to take the remaining four wickets as quickly as possible to make a comeback in the match.
