The WACA Ground is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium's name is derived from the initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA). The WACA has been considered Western Australia's "home of cricket" since the early 1890s, and Test cricket has been played at the ground since the 1970–71 season.[3] The ground is the home venue for Western Australia's first-class cricket team, the Western Warriors, and the state's Women's National Cricket League team, the Western Fury. The Big Bash League franchise, the Perth Scorchers, played their home matches at the ground until 2019. The Scorchers and the Australian national team have since moved most of their matches to the nearby 60,000-seat Perth Stadium.
