Bangladesh won the first match of the two-match Test series by 104 runs. The first Test was played in Dhaka. Subsequently, in the second Test played in Sylhet, Bangladesh secured victory on the final day. Bangladesh won this Test match by 78 runs. In the second Test, batting first, Bangladesh scored 278 runs. In reply, the Pakistan team could only manage to score 232 runs. Thereafter, in their second innings, Bangladesh scored 390 runs, setting a target of 337 runs for Pakistan. In response, the Pakistan team could only score 358 runs.

Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan in the second Test as well. Bangladesh won the second Test by 78 runs, completing a clean sweep of Pakistan in the two-match Test series. This victory has given a significant boost to Bangladesh in the World Test Championship standings. In the latest World Test Championship points table, the Bangladesh team has now overtaken India.

With the victory secured against Pakistan in the second Test on Wednesday, the Bangladesh team has climbed to the fifth position in the WTC (2025-27) rankings. Following this series, the Indian team has slipped to the sixth position, while Pakistan has tumbled to the eighth spot. The Indian team has not played a Test match since last year. India's next Test is scheduled against Afghanistan—a series that will not count towards the World Test Championship.

Australia currently holds the first position with 7 wins in 8 Test matches; New Zealand is in second place with 2 wins in 3 Test matches; South Africa is third with 3 wins in 4 Test matches; Sri Lanka is fourth with 1 win in 2 Test matches; Bangladesh is fifth with 2 wins in 4 Test matches; India is sixth with 4 wins in 9 Test matches; England is seventh with 3 wins in 10 Test matches; Pakistan is eighth with 1 win in 4 Test matches; and the West Indies occupy the ninth position, having recorded no wins in 8 Test matches.
