The trophy of the ODI World Cup, which is going to be hosted by India for the first time, has been launched. The International Cricket Council (ICC) launched the trophy in space on Monday. Along with this, the world tour of the trophy was also announced. This trophy will return to India after traveling to 18 countries under the World Tour starting from 27th June. This tour will end on 4 September.
The ICC sent the trophy into space with the help of a balloon with the help of America's private space agency 'St Into Space'. The trophy was then unveiled in the stratosphere after reaching an altitude of 12,000 feet above the surface of the earth. After that the trophy was landed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The World Cup trophy traveled to 40+ cities in 18 countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, USA and country India.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup trophy tour will be important. With only a few days left in the World Cup, this will be a great achievement for us. We will be able to promote cricket in other countries through this tour. The tour will give us a chance to meet and talk to the people of the countries. With this, we will also be able to launch the Community Cricket Development Program.
BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that there are crores of fans of cricket all over the world. Through this tour, we will be able to take the trophy to every nook and corner. Cricket unites India. The whole country is excited about the World Cup. We are ready to host the contest between the 10 best teams in the world.
