Amid speculation that the India-Pakistan match in the upcoming ODI World Cup could be rescheduled, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has said there could be a few changes to the schedule. Shah insisted that there have been requests from a few International Cricket Council (ICC) member nations to change the schedule, citing very small gaps between a few games.
The India-Pakistan match is one of the most anticipated matches in any cricket tournament, and any change to the schedule would be met with disappointment by fans. However, if the BCCI does decide to reschedule the match, it will be in the best interests of the players, who will have more time to rest and prepare for the tournament.

"A few members have requested that they have short gaps between two matches while they have a long gap of six days before other games. We are trying to just change the date and time of matches while retaining the venues. Things will be sorted out in a few days. These things happen in World Cups," Shah said here on Thursday. Shah didn’t want to name the member nations and asserted that it will be done in coordination with the ICC.

There have been reports that there could be security issues in Ahmedabad on Oct 15, the day fixed for the India-Pakistan match. Shah denied the security threats and reiterated that if the schedule is changed it will be only because of the requests from member nations.
