Rohit Sharma talked about retirement: Team India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that he is in no mood to retire at this time, there is no thought of retiring from cricket in his mind right now. He is still eager to win the World Cup for the country. The experienced batsman hopes that the Men in Blue will reach the finals of the upcoming T20 World Cup and World Test Championship (WTC).
India have failed to win an ICC title despite reaching the knockout stages consecutively since 2013. In the year 2023, Team India had to face defeat in two final matches against the legendary Australia. Team India suffered its first defeat in the final of the World Test Championship played in June. For the second time, Australia had defeated India in the final of the ODI World Cup. So let us know whether Rohit Sharma will play the 2027 World Cup?
36-year-old Rohit was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team, but he said that the 50-over World Cup is the real World Cup. Rohit said, I am playing well at the moment and I feel that I can play for some more years also. I really wanted to win the 2023 World Cup. The 50 over World Cup is the real World Cup. We have grown up watching the ODI World Cup. The World Test Championship final is to be held at Lord's next year and I am hopeful that we will make it there.
Speaking to ED Shareen and Gaurav Kapoor on the special episode of Breakfast with Champions on April 12, Rohit opened up about his future plans in his career. He said, “I haven't really thought about retirement. But, I don't know where life takes you. I'm playing well at the moment too – so I'm thinking I'll continue playing for a few more years and then, I don't know. I really want to win the World Cup and the WTC final in 2025, hopefully India will be successful in it.”

Reflecting on India's performance in the 2023 World Cup, Rohit revealed that the team had performed brilliantly throughout the tournament and one bad day came in the final. Hitman said, “We played very well till that final. When we won the semi-finals, I thought, now we are just one step away. We are doing all the things right.
What is the thing that can cause our World Cup defeat? Not a single thing came to my mind because I felt we had ticked all the boxes, we were playing good cricket.” Rohit concluded by saying, “We all had to admit a bad day and I think that was our bad day. Don't think that we played bad cricket in that final, some things did not go our way."
