Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is all set to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League 2026 on Wednesday, May 6. The 49th match of the tournament will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Despite having the home-ground advantage, Pat Cummins and his team are expected to face a stiff challenge from Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings currently sit atop the points table and have been the most successful team in the tournament so far. With six wins and two losses in nine matches, Shreyas Iyer and his team lead the points table with 13 points.

Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a crushing 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their previous match. In that game, the team took the field without their key all-rounder, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was unable to play due to illness. In his absence, Smaran Ravichandran was included in the Playing 11.
