Sunil Gavaskar told India Today that, 'If Sanju Samson had scored more runs, he would have definitely been included in the team and I would like to say the same for Yuzi Chahal. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar feels that Yuzi Chahal can only contribute with the bowling which is why he has been dropped from the team. He told India Today: "Sometimes you are looking at the balance of the team. Perhaps, you can say that Kuldeep is a useful batsman in the lower order, which is probably why he is placed ahead of Yuzi Chahal. Apart from that, he also brings in the left-handed variety."
