Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in Varanasi. This will be the country's 54th international cricket stadium. Till now, international cricket matches have been organized in 53 different stadiums in India. However, most of these stadiums are now closed and some are undergoing renovation. When PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the stadium, many cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar were also present.

This stadium will be very special and will have a glimpse of Kashi. PM Modi said that the structure of the stadium is dedicated to Mahadev. This stadium, being built at a cost of Rs 450 crore, is spread over 30 acres of land. The shape of its roof will be like the moon. At the same time, the pillars of lights installed in the stadium will be in the shape of a trident. Apart from this, the shape of Belpatra offered to Lord Shiva will also be seen in the stadium. The structure of the pavilion in the stadium will be in the shape of a damru.

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri shared a photo and said that he is going to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of the cricket stadium in Varanasi. Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar can also be seen in this photo along with Ravi Shastri. Sharing this photo, Ravi Shastri wrote, "Great trip to Varanasi, Mumbai and being among great people and colleagues from India. Just a few international runs and wickets here. Picture of a lifetime, great memories."

The stadium is being built at a cost of Rs 450 crore in Ganjari, Varanasi. Legends from the cricket world will attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of the international stadium. Many cricket players including Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri are coming. According to the administrative officer, after the foundation stone laying ceremony, the cricket legend will visit Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in Varanasi. This will be the country's 54th international cricket stadium. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has spent Rs 121 crore on land acquisition for the construction of an international cricket stadium in Varanasi. Apart from this, BCCI will spend Rs 330 crore on the construction of the stadium.

The thematic architecture of this stadium takes inspiration from Lord Shiva, with designs developed for the crescent-shaped roof cover, trident-shaped floodlights, seating arrangement based on ghat stairs and Bilvipatra-shaped metal sheets on the façade. The capacity of the stadium will be 30,000 spectators. Veteran players like Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Shastri, Vengsarkar will be present in the foundation stone laying ceremony. The release said that key people of BCCI including President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Secretary Jai Shah will also be present in the event.
