Most sixes in a test innings: The third match of the five-match Test series between India and England is being played in Rajkot from 15 February. Team India had put 445 runs on the board in the first innings on the strength of centuries from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. The England team was all out for 319 runs in the first innings. Team India declared the second innings at 430 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal played the highest innings of 214 runs.

Whereas Shubman Gill played an inning of 91 runs and Sarfaraz Khan played an inning of 68 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 12 sixes in the second innings against England. In 2014, New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum hit 11 sixes in the third Test match against Pakistan in Sharjah. Brendon McCullum played an innings of 202 runs in 188 balls with the help of 21 fours and 11 sixes. New Zealand won this match by one innings and 80 runs. Brendon McCullum is at fifth position in the list of batsmen who have hit most sixes in a Test innings.

4. Nathan Astle (11 sixes)

In 2002, New Zealand batsman Nathan Astle hit 11 sixes in the second innings of the first match of the Test series against England in Christchurch. Nathan Astle had played an inning of 222 runs in 168 balls with the help of 28 fours and 11 sixes. New Zealand had to face defeat against England by 80 runs in that match. Nathan Astle is fourth in the list of batsmen who have hit most sixes in an innings of Test.

In 2003, Matthew Hayden hit 11 sixes in the first innings of the first Test match of the series against Zimbabwe in Perth. Matthew Hayden had played an innings of 380 runs in 437 balls with the help of 38 fours and 11 sixes. Australia won that match against Zimbabwe by an innings and 175 runs. Matthew Hayden is at third place in the list of batsmen who have hit most sixes in an innings of Test.

2. Wasim Akram (12 sixes)

In 1996, Pakistani batsman Wasim Akram hit 12 sixes in the first innings of the first Test played against Zimbabwe at Shekupara. Wasim Akram had played an innings of 257 runs in 363 balls with the help of 22 fours and 12 sixes. Wasim Akram is at second position in the list.

Indian young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 12 sixes in the second innings of the third match of the Test series against England in Rajkot. Yashasvi Jaiswal played an unbeaten inning of 214 runs in 236 balls with the help of 14 fours and 12 sixes. Yashasvi Jaiswal is at the first position in the list of batsmen who have hit most sixes in an innings of Test.
