The IPL 2026 has concluded. The final of this season was played last Sunday (May 31) between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. By winning the match, Bangalore etched their name on the trophy. This season, which ran from March 28 to May 31, also witnessed several controversies—including RCB's Tim David showing his middle finger, and a heated altercation between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. Here, we take a look at the biggest controversies of this season.
1. Riyan Parag Vaping Incident
Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was spotted vaping inside the dressing room. A video of Riyan went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion and speculation. It was even suggested that the Rajasthan captain could face imprisonment over the incident. Ultimately, taking cognizance of the matter, the BCCI docked 25% of Riyan Parag's match fee and assigned him one demerit point.

4. Clash between Virat Kohli and Travis Head
The match played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad witnessed a clash between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. An exchange of words took place between the two during the match, the repercussions of which were clearly visible after the game concluded. Following Kohli's dismissal, Head reportedly took a jibe at him, remarking that Kohli had gotten out even before Head had the opportunity to bowl. Subsequently, a video surfaced at the end of the match that left everyone astonished. As it turned out, Kohli did not shake hands with Head. The video showed Kohli shaking hands with everyone else, but deliberately ignoring Head.
Look behind the whole SRH coaching staff, including Daniel Vettori and Muttiah Muralitharan, were watching Virat Kohli and Travis Head, expecting some drama and ready to stop a fight. But Kohli didn’t shake hands, and everyone started laughing. 😂
