ICC Test Team Rankings 2023 Team India is based on Team India's recent performance at the first position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ranking system.
Rankings are provided by the ICC for the 12 teams that play Test cricket, however, two Test playing nations, Afghanistan and Ireland, are not ranked by the ICC as these teams have not played enough matches.

The top team was awarded the ICC Test Championship mace and cash prize. Between 2003 and 2019, the ICC Test Championship mace was transferred whenever a new team topped the ratings list. The mace is now awarded to the winners of the ICC World Test Championship.
