In the post-match press conference, Babar Azam said, We started well with the ball and got a lot of wickets as per the plan. Maybe in the end we gave 10-15 runs more. Asif Ali also played the role of finisher in Pakistans victory. Asif played a stormy inning of 25 runs in seven balls, which included four sixes. Now Pakistan will face Namibia and Scotland in their last two matches.

Babar said,

He (Asif Ali) is known for this. I was confident even before the start of the tournament that he would do well if needed. We had well prepared our plan with the ball. The spinners were getting some help from the track.
Afghanistan also have good bowlers and I was trying to take it as deep as I could. Unfortunately, I couldnt finish things but credit goes to Asif Ali
