All the key bowlers are available for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in America and Caribbean and it can be said that Sri Lanka is all set for the event. This is why people are excited that the team can make it to the semi-finals in the 20-nation competition starting in two weeks.
Despite good performances from several bowlers, Sri Lanka had performed poorly in the last two T20 World Cups in the UAE and Australia and were eliminated in the semi-finals by narrow margins. A little more discipline in catching could have taken them to victory, especially in Australia.
Dushmantha Chameera has been quite exciting with his smooth action and pace, but in his ten-year long career he has never been fully fit to play in any tournament. It is expected that they will perform well in this competition and can trouble many opponents.
The most exciting player among the Sri Lankan bowlers is Mathisha Pathirana. Not only has he created a stir in the IPL, he has also shown his talent in the death overs while being in the Sri Lankan team. He has also done wonders in some high pressure overs.
Dilshan Madushanka took 21 wickets in the World Cup last year. Madushanka has been successful with the new ball and has proven reliable in terms of his control, while the swing he produces has troubled many top-order batsmen. Sadly, he could not play IPL this year due to injury.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahesh Theekshana have also suffered setbacks and this is a big blow for the team. The bowling attack looks quite strong with both spinners and all the key fast bowlers available.
