Shakib became the third bowler to score more than 6000 runs and take more than 300 wickets in ODIs and the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 300 ODI wickets.

Shakib Al Hasan became the first Bangladesh bowler to take 300 ODI wickets. He achieved this feat by taking the wicket of Rehan Ahmed in the third ODI against England at Chittagong.Apart from this, Shakib has become the third all-rounder to score more than 6000 runs and more than 300 wickets in ODIs. Before him this feat was done by Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi. Shakib became the third left-arm spinner after Daniel Vettori and Jayasuriya to achieve this feat.
Let us tell you that during the home ODI series against the Indian team, Shakib became the first all-rounder to complete 3,000 runs and 150 wickets at home. Jayasuriya has left far behind Shakib in terms of this record. Jayasuriya had scored 3880 runs in ODIs on home pitch and also took 119 wickets. Currently, he has retired from international cricket long back.

Shakib Al Hasan got his first ODI wicket in the form of Elton Chigumbura against Zimbabwe in 2006. Asad Shafiq became Shakib's 100th victim in ODIs in 2010 during the Asia Cup. In 2015, he got his 200th wicket by dismissing Hashim Amla. Shakib became the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in 2021, surpassing Mashrafe Mortaza (269) as soon as he took his 270th wicket.
