Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from Test cricket. This is a big setback for the Indian team before the England tour. The Indian team will go to England after IPL 2025. A series of 5 Test matches will be played between India and England on this tour. The Test series will start from June 20. With this series, the Indian team will start the new World Test Championship cycle.

In his debut Test, Rohit Sharma scored 177 runs off 301 balls with the help of 23 fours and a six. He came to the crease when India were in trouble at 83 for 5 and shared a crucial 280-run partnership for the seventh wicket with R Ashwin.
He took time to score runs initially and patiently paced his innings before scoring runs at a rapid pace later. He reached his maiden century off 141 balls and added 112 more runs with minimal risk and calculated aggression. He handled both pace and spin in a controlled manner and scored freely against the South African spinners. His shot selection was judicious and he often targeted the spinners with sweeps and loft. India declared at 497 for 9 and won the match by an innings and 202 runs. Rohit's innings was the highest individual score in the series and he finished the campaign as the leading run-scorer.
Rohit scored 161 runs off 231 balls, including 18 fours and two sixes. He dominated the spinners initially, often disrupting their rhythm using sweeps and aggressive footwork. His runs came consistently and he capitalised on opportunities to score against both seam and spin. In a match where most other batsmen struggled, Rohit's innings was the most impressive, helping India post 329 in the first innings. India won the match by 317 runs and the innings proved to be decisive in levelling the series.
Rohit scored 127 off 256 balls in the second innings of the fourth Test. He started cautiously and scored 13 runs off his first 65 balls, then gradually picked up the pace. His century came through precise shot selection and disciplined defence. He batted fluently after settling in, especially against Moeen Ali, and his score soared in the latter half of the innings. His efforts formed the backbone of India's second innings score of 466. The innings laid the foundation for India to set England a target of 368, which they successfully defended and won the match by 157 runs.
Rohit scored 120 runs off 212 balls with the help of 15 fours and two sixes. The pitch had sharp turn and low bounce from day one, but he quickly adapted and used his feet effectively against the Australian spinners. He regularly rotated the strike and took calculated risks with sweeps and lofted drives. His innings was the only century of the match and gave India a strong first innings lead of over 200 runs. India bowled out Australia cheaply in the second innings and won by an innings and 132 runs, with Rohit's innings laying the foundation for the result.
