Australia Squad Announced for Bangladesh Test Series: Cricket Australia (CA) announced a strong 13-member squad on Tuesday, July 21, for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The best news for Australian fans is the return of regular captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins, who had been sidelined for a long period due to injury. Cummins played his last Test match for Australia in December 2025.
In addition to Cummins, Josh Hazlewood has also returned to bolster the fast-bowling attack. Meanwhile, experienced off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who had struggled with a hamstring injury during the Ashes series against England, has regained full fitness and rejoined the squad.

Speaking on the squad selection and the return of star players, George Bailey, Head of Cricket Australia’s Men’s Senior Selection Committee, said:
"The National Selection Panel is thrilled about the return of Pat, Josh, and Nathan. These players have worked incredibly hard over the past few months both individually and in collaboration with our sports science and sports medicine teams to recover from their respective injuries and regain match fitness."
Highlighting the upcoming busy schedule, Bailey also clarified that other players would be given opportunities if the need arose. He said, "Although this is the core squad of 13 players, if the need for any changes arises before the matches, we have players ready as backups. Given the busy cricket schedule over the next 12 months, many other players will also get the opportunity to play across all formats."
