The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen some of the most explosive innings in the history of T20 cricket, including several fast centuries. However, Chris Gayle's blazing 30-ball century against the now-defunct Pune Warriors in IPL 2013 remains the fastest century in the tournament's history. The most boring player in IPL history, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, scored a century in 35 balls against Gujarat in IPL 2025.

Travis Head smashed a century in just 39 balls for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2024 IPL season. Head scored 102 runs in 41 balls with the help of 9 fours and 8 sixes and thanks to his innings, SRH scored a record score of 287/3, which is the team's highest score in IPL. His aggressive batting along with Abhishek Sharma gave a blazing start in the powerplay and helped SRH win by 25 runs.

David Miller scored a century in just 38 balls in the 2013 IPL season for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Mohali on May 6. Miller scored an unbeaten 101 off 38 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes. Thanks to his explosive innings, KXIP achieved a mammoth target of 191 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18 overs.

Yusuf Pathan scored a century in just 37 balls for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai on March 21 in the 2010 IPL season. It was the fastest IPL century at that time. Pathan scored 100 runs in 37 balls, including 9 fours and 8 sixes. Despite his explosive innings, Rajasthan Royals could not achieve the target of 213 runs and lost by 4 runs

Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history in the 2025 IPL season by scoring a century in just 35 balls for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on 28 April. This is the second fastest century in IPL and the fastest century by an Indian batsman, breaking Yusuf Pathan's record of 37 balls.

At the age of 14 years and 32 days, Vaibhav became the youngest centurion in T20 cricket, scoring 101 runs in 38 balls, including 7 fours and 11 sixes and 94 runs came from just boundaries. Thanks to his stormy innings, RR achieved the target of 210 runs in 15.5 overs for the loss of 8 wickets

Chris Gayle created history in the 2013 IPL season by scoring a century in just 30 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Pune Warriors India (PWI) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This is the fastest century in IPL and T20 cricket. Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 off 66 balls, including 13 fours and 17 sixes, which is the highest individual score by a batsman in T20 cricket. His explosive innings helped RCB post a mammoth score of 263/5, which RCB won by 130 runs and bowled out Pune for 133/9. Gayle was named Player of the Match for this performance.
