Rizwan, the opener of the Pakistan cricket team, has created a new record by continuing his stellar form. During the third T20 match played against West Indies, this Pakistani batsman made such a record in a calendar year that would be impossible to break. Rizwan, who was also a blast in the T20 World Cup, scored 2000 T20 runs in a year, which had not been scored by any batsman before.

In the third T20 match against Pakistan and West Indies, Rizwan scored a half-century while playing a blistering inning. He completed fifty runs in just 26 balls hitting 4 fours and three sixes. This year his bat has seen one strong inning after another. He has scored the 13th half-century in the 26th match. During this innings, completed 2000 runs in T20 this year. In international cricket, he crossed the 1300-run mark.

This year Rizwan scored more than 2000 runs in T20. No batsman had ever reached this figure before. Rizwan crossed the 2000-run mark this year after playing 45 T20Is. At the same time, his captain Babar Azam has scored about 1800 runs in 43 T20s this year. In terms of the highest run-scorer, Chris Gayle of West Indies scored 1665 runs in 35 T20s in 2015. In 2016, Indian captain Virat Kohli scored 1614 runs.
In the third match against West Indies, Rizwan scored 87 runs in 45 balls hitting 10 fours and 3 sixes. He missed out on scoring his second T20I century by 13 runs. Earlier, he made another century partnership with Babar Azam to create a record. While doing so for the sixth time, the duo surpassed the record of five-century partnership held by the Indian opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
