One after another, BCCI is receiving criticism for hosting the major event in 2023, starting with the World Cup scheduling, moving on to site problems, and then a ticket scam. The newest news that there won't be an opening ceremony for the World Cup on October 4 has infuriated fans just when they thought everything had come together.
The BCCI prepared the inaugural ceremony and even selected the performers for the opening night, including Asha Bhosle, Ranveer Singh, Tamannah Bhatia, Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, and Arijit Singh. However, there won't be an opening ceremony, according to the most recent sources from Dainik Jagran.
The BCCI will just hold a captains meeting Today, followed by a laser display. Instead of the opening ceremony, BCCI will hold a big celebration before the India vs. Pakistan match on October 14 or a closing ceremony on November 19.
There is intense anticipation as D-day draws closer. Three days remain till the start of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. On Wednesday, October 4, the opening ceremony was to be held at Ahmedabad Cricket arena, the largest cricket arena in the world. But now the opening ceremony got cancelled due to above mentioned reasons.
These are the events planned for the opening ceremony, and many Bollywood stars were invited to this grand event.
Along with showcasing Indian heritage, there will also be a laser show and fireworks. All ten teams' captains will be present for the event. Fans can attend the ceremony if they purchased tickets for the England vs. New Zealand opening game.
Asha Bhosle's lovely voice will captivate the listeners. In addition to the singing icon, Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, and Arijit Singh will perform. Ranveer Singh, the face of the ICC World Cup anthem, will also sing with some Bollywood and Tollywood divas.
Preparations for the event are in full swing ahead of the big day. The stage has been prepared for the play, and rehearsals are under underway.

On October 3, all ten captains will arrive in Ahmedabad ahead of the formal launch. However, with India facing the Netherlands and other teams in the warm-up on October 3, the majority of them, including Rohit Sharma, will arrive on October 4 morning.
And, instead of taking place before the first match, the World Cup opening ceremony will take place a day earlier. With the matches beginning at 2 PM IST, there will be insufficient time for such an event. Furthermore, the fireworks and laser display will be unable to take place during the day.
In addition to fans, key officials from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the BCCI will attend the event. The gathering will be attended by top administrators from all cricket boards, as invited by the BCCI and the ICC.
