Gayle is also the player to hit the most sixes in an inning of IPL. In 2013, playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he hit 17 sixes in an inning against Pune Warriors. This is the most sixes hit by a batsman in an inning in the history of any T20 cricket. Gayle played a record inning of 175 runs in 66 balls in that match.
