Australia Men's team will begin their Ashes title defence with the first of the five Tests at the Gabba in Brisbane from December 8 in a bumper summer schedule announced by Cricket Australia on Wednesday. The national women's team, too, begin their quest for a third consecutive defence of the trophy in an across-formats series beginning with the one-off Test at the Manuka Oval in the Australian capital from January 27.
Ahead of the Ashes, Australia will host Afghanistan for the first-ever red-ball fixture between the two nations, from November 27. The match was originally pushed back a year from the 2020-21 season owing to significant disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
