In its first two seasons (2022 and 2023), Lucknow Super Giants have produced players for the Indian Premier League (IPL); but, in 2024, the team captained by KL Rahul will aim to achieve even more.
Captain KL Rahul was the first name on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) retained players list ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. The Lucknow team verified KL Rahul's retention via a post on the microblogging site "X" in a tweet, amidst rumours that he was leaving LSG.
LSG has made it to the playoffs in both of their IPL seasons (2022 and 2023), but in 2024, they hope to take it a step further and perhaps even make it to the championship game.

However, Rahul's injury prevented him from playing the entire season this year. Rahul suffered a thigh injury on May 1st while fielding for LSG against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He missed several months of activity and didn't play again until September when India participated in the Asia Cup.
