Harshit Rana stood out as KKR’s top performer with the ball. The young right-arm pacer delivered a stunning opening burst, claiming three crucial wickets for 25 runs in his three-over spell. His victims included the in-form Priyansh Arya (22), Prabhsimran Singh (30), and Shreyas Iyer (0), effectively dismantling Punjab’s top order within the powerplay. After opting to bat first, Punjab’s strategy backfired as they suffered a severe top-order collapse. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, two important batsmen who showed potential but were unable to convert their beginnings, were among the team's four wicket losses during the powerplay. Debutant Josh Inglis also fell cheaply for 2 runs, bowled by Varun Chakaravarthy. Punjab were eventually bowled out for a mere 111 in 15.3 overs — a score that seemed insufficient at one point.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the seasoned spinner, shifted the tide of the match just as KKR appeared to be cruising at 60/2 during their pursuit.
