Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season on Thursday. KKR coach Chandrakant Pandit was understandably delighted with his team's performance, especially after losing some early wickets. He praised Gurbaz and Shardul for their excellent knocks and Chakaravarthy and Narine for their brilliant bowling. He also had some kind words for the debutant Suyash Sharma, who he had seen perform well in trial matches.
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis was disappointed with his team's batting performance, especially after getting off to a good start. He felt that his team could have done better and gotten closer to the target, even when losing. He also admitted that tactically, they could have been better, especially in their death bowling.
