Former West Indies captain and veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been appointed as the new mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders team ahead of IPL 2025. Bravo was the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. Now he has finally left CSK and MS Dhoni. He was associated with this franchise for the last several years. He played for this team till the year 2022. Now KKR has included him in their team. Bravo will replace Gautam Gambhir in the KKR team. KKR won the IPL 2024 title under Gambhir's mentorship. Dwayne Bravo holds the record for taking the most wickets in T20 history. He has taken 631 wickets in 582 matches in this format. However, he suffered a back injury in the Caribbean Premier League this year. KKR CEO Venky Mysore confirmed that Bravo will work with all the other franchises of the Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League. These also include Major League Cricket in the United States and ILT-20 in the UAE.

Bravo retired from international cricket in 2021 but continues to participate in franchise cricket and has held coaching roles in a few other leagues, including the IPL. He recently worked as a coach with IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and was named Afghanistan's bowling consultant for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.
During his career, Bravo has won the hearts of every fan with his performances. His ability to perform under pressure, especially his slow ball and death over bowling, are his specialties. He led Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) to two consecutive CPL titles in 2017 and 2018 and also led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to their first CPL title in 2021.
Bravo was a part of Mumbai Indians in the first three seasons of IPL i.e. from 2008 to 2010. After this, in 2011, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the auction. Before Chennai was suspended in 2016, Bravo played an important role in making the team champion in 2011. When Chennai was suspended in 2016, he was bought by Gujarat Lions. After the return of CSK in 2018, he once again joined the same team and remained a part of the team till 2023.

During this, the Chennai team became champion three times. Bravo announced his retirement from IPL in December 2022 and then became the bowling coach of CSK replacing Lakshmipathy Balaji. Now he has got a new responsibility. Bravo has taken 183 wickets in 161 matches in IPL and has also scored 1560 runs. These include five half-centuries. He also became the first player in the world to win two Purple Caps in 2013 and 2015.
