The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced a 15-member squad for ICC Womens World Cup 2022 which will be played between March 4 and April 3 in New Zealand. Mithali Raj will lead India while Harmanpreett Kaur will be her deputy at the World Cup.

The All India Womens Senior Selection Committee picked the squads for the New Zealand tour and the showpiece event on Wednesday, a BCCI statement said. Among the notable absentees from the squad are fast bowler Shikha Pandey and in-form batter Jemimah Rodrigues.

The surprising non-selection has been of 21-year old Jemimah Rodrigues of Mumbai. The all-rounder was expected to make it to the squad, but didnt. The squad will also feature in the 5-match ODI series against New Zealand starting from 11th February 2022.
