Team India has been announced for ODI and T20 against Bangladesh, all six matches of this series will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.
Fast bowler Renuka Singh, wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh, experienced all-rounder Shikha Pandey and left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gaikwad have been dropped from Team India for the series against Bangladesh starting July 9.
BCCI did not even inform about it. It has been told in the press release why these three were not included in the team. Ghosh's absence has opened doors for Uma Chhetri of Assam. The 20-year-old Uma, who is the second wicket-keeper behind Yastika Bhatia in both the T20 and ODI teams, was part of the India A team that recently won the ACC Emerging Nations tournament in Hong Kong.
Kerala all-rounder Minnu Mani (T20 only) and left-arm spinners Anusha Bareddi (Andhra) and Rashi Kanojia (Uttar Pradesh) have been called up for the T20s and ODIs. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain both the teams, while Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain.
For Bangladesh this was the start of cricket tours involving the Indian women's team. Team India will tour New Zealand, England and Australia in the next six months. And India, the Khalifa team of England and Australia, will play many test matches.
The women's team coach's post is vacant following the removal of Ramesh Powar. Since then India's former devil Rishikesh Khyatkar is certifying this post at the last minute. Cannes was also a part of the fitness camp in May by taking photographs.
