The three-match series against Pat Cummins' team, India's penultimate series before the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 begins next month, announced by BCCI selectors.
On Monday, the team for Team India's three-match ODI series against former World Cup champions Australia revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) senior selection committee, which is chaired by Ajit Agarkar.
On Friday in Mohali, the first game of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia will start. Live updates on the India ODI team announcement vs Australia: KL Beginning on September 22, the first two ODIs between India and Australia will feature Rahul as the team's captain.
R. Ashwin also rejoins the ODI lineup and will be present for all three games. Senior professionals Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were given respite for the first two games but will play in the final game.

Ajit Agarkar, the head selector, is "hoping" that all-rounder Axar Patel would be fit for the decisive game but there is still uncertainty over the all-rounder's health. During the dead rubber Super 4 matchup versus Bangladesh, Axar suffered an injury. Then, as a last-minute substitute for the all-rounder, Washington Sundar was added to the Asia Cup roster.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj produced a phenomenal show in the Asia Cup final on Sunday as Rohit Sharma and Co. demolished Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in Colombo. It was India's 8th Asia Cup title and the team will now look to carry forward the momentum in the 50-over encounters against Australia, after which India will play two warm-up matches and proceed into the World Cup.

Australia and India are both considered among the favourites to win the World Cup, which will be held in India. As important players return, Australia has already revealed its 18-man roster for the three ODIs.
