But due to torrential rain, the match has been canceled and India has been given the gold medal as per the ranking.

The final match of the men's cricket event at the Asian Games between India and Afghanistan was canceled due to rain. India was declared the winner on the basis of ICC T20 rankings. Team India is at first place in the ranking. Whereas, Afghanistan is at 10th position.

The Indian men's cricket team had come to participate in the Asiad for the first time. He created history in his first attempt and won the gold medal. Earlier in 2010, Bangladesh had won the gold by defeating Afghanistan and in 2014, Sri Lanka had won the gold by defeating Afghanistan. The Afghanistan team reached the final for the third consecutive time and had to be satisfied with the third silver medal.

Asian Games Cricket Final: Talking about Afghanistan's innings, Shahidullah Kamal scored the highest unbeaten 49 runs. Captain Gulbadin Naib remained unbeaten after scoring 27 runs. Afsar Jazai contributed 15 runs. Apart from these three, no other batsman could touch double figures. Zubaid Akbari was out after scoring five runs and Mohammad Shahzad after scoring four runs. Noor Ali Zadran and Karim Janat scored one run each. Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dubey, Shahbaz Nadeem and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each for India.

Due to continuous rain, India did not get a chance to bat and India was declared the winner according to the ranking.
