Former Team India captain Virat Kohli has reached number-6 in the ICC Test Batsmen Rankings. Recently, during the South Africa tour, Virat was India's top run scorer, he had scored 172 runs. Due to this performance, he gained 3 places and moved from 9th to 6th.

Apart from Virat, captain Rohit Sharma also jumped 4 places to reach 10th position. Among bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah moved up one place to number 4. Ravichandran Ashwin remains on top among bowlers.

Virat had shown experience in South Africa

Virat Kohli was at number 9 in the Test batsmen's rankings before the start of the South Africa tour. In the very first match he played innings of 38 and 76 runs. In the second match, where 7 Indian batsmen could not even open their account, Virat was the top run scorer of the team by scoring 46 runs. He scored 12 runs in the second innings.

Virat was the top run scorer of Team India by scoring 172 runs in the series. After him, KL Rahul was the second top scorer of the team.

Rohit returned to top-10

New Zealand's Kane Williamson is on top in the latest batsmen's ranking of International Cricket Council (ICC). Virat is at sixth position among batsmen. Team India captain Rohit Sharma jumped 4 places to reach 10th position.

Bumrah reached number-4, Ashwin on top

Jasprit Bumrah also gained in ICC Test bowlers rankings. He reached number-4 with the gain of one place. He took 12 wickets in just 3 innings on the South Africa tour. Bumrah also received the Player of the Series award for this performance.

Siraj gained 13 places

Apart from Bumrah, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj also gained in Test rankings. He jumped 13 places to reach number 17. India's off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on top in the bowlers' rankings. While Ravindra Jadeja is at number five. That means 3 Indians are included in the top-5 bowlers.

Among bowlers, Australia captain Pat Cummins has reached second place and South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has reached third place. Cummins gained one place, while Rabada lost one place.

Indians also dominate among all-rounders

Indian players also dominate among ICC Test all-rounders. Left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja is at number one and right arm off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is at number two. Not only this, Akshar Patel is also at number five. He is currently at joint number-5 with England's Joe Root. Both have 286 rating points.

Australia on top among teams

India suffered a loss in the Test team rankings in South Africa. The 2 test series was drawn 1-1, India lost the first test but won the second. Whereas Australia defeated Pakistan 3-0 on home ground. Team Australia reached first place with 121 points, while Team India came second with 117 points. India is at number one in the team rankings of ODI and T-20. The team will play 3 T-20 series against Afghanistan from tomorrow i.e. Thursday.
