Hockey India announced a 32-member Indian Men’s Hockey squad for the Bhubaneswar leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25, to be held at Kalinga Hockey Stadium. Veteran drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh will continue to captain the side, with Hardik Singh serving as his deputy. The team will begin their campaign with matches against Spain, Germany, Ireland, and England, scheduled from February 15th to 25th, where each team will play twice.
The squad also includes first-choice goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak, alongside Suraj Karkera and Princedeep Singh, who will provide strong support in goal. With a talented and experienced squad, India aims to make a strong impact in the FIH Pro League 2024-25 season.
The Indian Men’s Hockey squad for the upcoming FIH Pro League 2024-25 features a strong defensive unit, including Harmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Sumit, Sanjay, Jugraj Singh, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Varun Kumar, and Yashdeep Siwach. These players will form the backbone of the team's defensive strategy, aiming to thwart the attacking threats of their opponents.
In the midfield, India boasts a dynamic lineup with players like Rajkumar Pal, Shamsher Singh, Manpreet Singh, Vice Captain Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Nilakanta Sharma, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, and Rajinder Singh, who will drive the game forward with their playmaking abilities. The attacking trio will consist of Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Boby Singh Dhami, Shilanand Lakra, Dilpreet Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal, Uttam Singh, and newcomers Angad Bir Singh and Arshdeep Singh.
Angad Bir Singh, 22, and 20-year-old Arshdeep Singh have earned their first senior team call-ups following impressive performances in the junior team and the ongoing Hockey India League. Indian Men’s Team Head Coach Craig Fulton expressed his excitement over the squad selection, emphasizing their potential to win games and deliver an impressive style of hockey. He is eager to start the Pro League campaign on a positive note and see the players shine against some of the best international teams.
