Commonwealth Games 2026 July 23: The stage is set for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. In this sporting extravaganza commencing on July 23, approximately 3,000 athletes from 74 nations will vie for 215 gold medals across 10 different sports.
India is participating in the Commonwealth Games for the 19th time. Embarking on this historic journey, a contingent of 124 Indian athletes comprising competitors from 8 mainstream sports and 5 para-sports will step into the arena with dreams of winning medals.

India will kick off its campaign with the men's and women's Lawn Bowls events. The Indian Lawn Bowls team had previously won the hearts of the entire nation with a historic performance at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

- Women's Fours Team: Lovely Choubey, Pinki, Nayanmoni Saikia, and Rupa Rani Tirkey secured India's first-ever historic gold medal in lawn bowls by defeating South Africa.
- Men's Fours Team: The team comprising Sunil Bahadur, Chandan Singh, Navneet Singh, and Dinesh Kumar won a silver medal for the country.
