FIH Womens World Cup 2026: Hockey India has announced the 20-member Indian women's hockey squad for the FIH Women's Hockey World Cup 2026. Star midfielder Salima Tete has been entrusted with the captaincy for the upcoming mega-event. Featuring a balanced mix of experienced and young players, the Indian team is set to showcase its prowess at the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the Netherlands and Belgium from August 15 to 30.

The Indian team is currently putting the finishing touches on its preparations at the SAI National Camp in Bengaluru. The squad includes several young talents who have delivered outstanding performances during recent international tours. The Indian women's team has been in excellent form leading up to the World Cup; last month, India clinched the title at the FIH Nations Cup in New Zealand, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. This historic victory has significantly boosted the team's morale.
Head Coach Sjoerd Marijne has described the selected 20-member squad as highly balanced.

FIH Women's World Cup 2026: India Pool D Fixtures & Schedule
The Indian team has been placed in Pool D of the World Cup alongside China, England, and South Africa.
The Indian team will play all its group-stage matches at the historic Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands.- 16 August: India vs China (First match)
- 18 August: India vs South Africa
- 20 August: India vs England
