IPL 2026 Orange Cap Standing: The IPL 2026 Orange Cap race witnessed another dramatic twist after the clash between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
For a brief moment, Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan climbed to the top of the batting charts after becoming the first player this season to cross the 500-run mark. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad star Heinrich Klaasen reclaimed the Orange Cap later in the same match despite a low score.
Sai Sudharsan Briefly Takes Orange Cap Lead
Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a competitive total of 168/5 thanks to a brilliant innings from Sai Sudharsan.
The stylish left-handed batter scored 61 runs off just 44 balls and once again delivered under pressure for GT. With this knock, Sudharsan crossed the 500-run mark in IPL 2026 and temporarily moved to the top of the Orange Cap standings during the innings break.
His consistency at the top order has been one of the biggest reasons behind Gujarat Titans successful campaign this season.

Heinrich Klaasen Reclaims Top Spot
Although Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a massive collapse during the chase, Heinrich Klaasen still managed to regain the Orange Cap.
Klaasen scored only 14 runs in the match, but those runs were enough to take his season tally to 508 runs from 12 matches. As a result, the explosive SRH batter overtook Sai Sudharsan and returned to the top of the IPL 2026 batting leaderboard.
SRH captain Pat Cummins later presented the Orange Cap back to Klaasen after the match.
Abhishek Sharma Continues Strong Season
Abhishek Sharma remains one of the most dangerous batters of IPL 2026 and currently sits third in the standings.
The aggressive Sunrisers Hyderabad opener has scored 481 runs in 12 matches at an incredible strike rate above 209, making him one of the fastest-scoring batters this season.
