Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals faced off in the 7th match of the IPL 2021 tournament, The RR team is captained by Sanju Samson for the first time in IPL, his first time captaining a franchise full-time in the tournament.
While Rishabh Pant-led team made their first outing in their revamped form, with the new name, new-look jersey, new kit, and helmets and pads.
DC opened with Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi shaw, but Prithvi shaw fell quickly in 2nd over, giving jaydev unadkat his first wicket in the Indian Premier League. However, this brought in Rahane, who stepped on the accelerator after a slight look in. After that Dhawan also fell in the hands of Unadkat then comes Rishabh Pant the Captain. He alone added 51 runs on the board, pant was looking set for a huge score here, but then Sanju Samson brought more pressure to DC because of their bowling attack this made Rishabh Pant more desperate to take a run and he got Run-out by Riyan Parag while taking a risky single. This also led to Riyan Parag breaking out in a small Bihu dance as a celebration of removing one of the most dangerous batsmen in T20 format.
