ICC releases Women's T20 World Cup 2024 song 'Whatever It Takes': The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 will be played from October 3. The tournament was earlier scheduled to be held in Bangladesh, but due to political reasons it will now be played in the UAE. Meanwhile, ahead of the tournament, the ICC has released the official event song 'Whatever It Takes.'

The official music video has also been launched along with the soundtrack, which shows a cinematic preview of the tournament. It highlights iconic moments of women's cricket.

The official song of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is sung by all-girl pop group W.i.S.H. The music director of the song is Mikey McCleary and composer is Parth Parekh and it is produced by Bay Music House. The song is now available for download and streaming on major platforms worldwide.

W.i.S.H. girl group shared their joy on the launch of the song, saying

“We are extremely proud to announce that as an all-girls group, we have created the official event song for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup! Cricket is a powerful force that unites people in our country and around the world, and it is an honour to contribute to such a special occasion. Being huge fans of Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana, we cannot wait for them to perform the hook step of the music video, and of course the other players from all the participating nations.”

Claire Furlong, ICC General Manager (Marketing and Communications), said

“The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is committed to creating the best platform for world-class players to shine. Women’s cricket is firmly established on the global stage, and we aim to further enhance its recognition with the launch of the official event song.”

Talking about the song, Music Director, Mikey McCleary said

“I think we have captured the atmosphere and energy of the T20 Cricket World Cup in this song and I can’t wait for cricket fans around the world to hear it.”
