Tesla CEO Elon Musk has given an update on the production of low-cost electric cars. In an interview with car industry veteran Sandy Munro on Tuesday, he said- 'We are working on a low-cost electric vehicle, which will be manufactured in very large quantities. We have made a lot of progress in that work. I review the production line plan every week.
Musk said- 'The revolution that will be seen in the manufacturing sector from that car will shake people's minds. The production line will be like no one has seen before. The level of production technology will be more advanced than any other automotive plant on Earth. Musk said the first production line will be at the Gigafactory in Texas.
Tesla vehicles are currently quite expensive and not accessible to most people like many other brands. Currently four electric cars of Tesla are being sold in the American market. These include Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y. Among these, the real wheel drive variant of Model 3 is the cheapest. Its price in America is $ 38,990 (about Rs 32.48 lakh).
