Tata Motors today (January 25) launched its entry level hatchback cars Tiago and Tiago NRG with new exterior color options. At the same time, the company has also added a new color to Tigor, the only sedan included in its lineup. The company claims that Tiago and Tigor give a mileage of 20kmpl in petrol mode. Whereas in CNG mode it gives mileage of Km/Kg.
Apart from the new color option in both the models, the company has not made any changes. The company updated both the models in August 2023 and launched them in CNG with twin cylinder technology. Now the company is soon going to introduce CNG model with automatic gearbox.
Tata Tiago is priced between Rs 5.60 lakh to Rs 8.20 lakh and Tata Tigor is priced between Rs 6.30 lakh to Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago car competes with Maruti Celerio, Maruti WagonR and Citroen C3, while the Tigor competes with Maruti Dezire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura.
Tata has included a new Torando Blue exterior color in place of Arizona Blue in Tiago. The new color is more shiny than the old blue color. Tata has also given this color in dual-tone shade in the top model of the hatchback, XZ+. The car now comes with 6 color options. These include Torando Blue (New), Flame Red, Daytona Grey, Opel White, Torando Blue Dual Tone (New), Opel White Dual Tone. The new Torando Blue color in Tata Tiago is available in XT, XT CNG, XZ O+, XZ+ and XZ+ CNG variants.
In place of Foresta Green color in Tiago NRG, a new Grassland Badge exterior color has been given. It is given in light shade which is available in both monotone and dual-tone options. The car is now available in 4 colours. These include Fire Red Dual Tone, Polar White Dual Tone, Daytona Gray Dual Tone and Grassland Badge Dual Tone (New). The new Grassland Beige color in Tata Tiago NRG is available in XT NRG, XT NRG CNG, XZ NRG and XZ NRG CNG variants.
A new Meteor Bronze exterior color option has been included in Tata Tigor. This color looks like light brown. However, it is available only in single tone color. The car is now available in 5 colours. These include Meteor Bronze (new), Magnite Red, Daytona Grey, Opal Gray and Arizona Blue. The new Meteor Bronze color in Tata Tigor is available in XZ, XZ CNG, XZ+ and XZ+ CNG variants.
In Tiago and Tigor, the company has provided a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder bi-fuel petrol engine. This engine generates 84 bhp power and 113 NM torque in petrol mode. Whereas, on CNG mode it generates power of 72 bhp and torque of 95 nm. Along with the engine, it has the choice of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Only 5-speed manual gearbox is provided in its CNG variants. Soon, Tiago and Tigor CNG will include a 5-speed AMT gearbox and after this they will become India's first CNG automatic car. The CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor have twin-cylinder technology, which gives them a good boot space.
